Kids are out!!! Ahh....Silence :)

    So, I think I got a lot accomplished on here today: Added restaurants, music venues, consignment sales, recipes, blogging tips..........check it out.  Any suggestions or anything you wanna see??? I will constantly try to add to these.  Recipes have a Thanksgiving theme so far since it's around the corner.

Simply Saturday

  Blair woke me up, once again, with her "princess" dress on, complete with high heels, wings, and tiara.  What a diva I have on my hands!! Peyton follows behind with his mini-motorcycle "vrooming" all around.  Jamison just wishes she could join the party.  The best she can do to catch up with  her siblings is to scoot backwards.  Oh, a day in the life of a baby. 
    I'm off to pick up around our castle, and get some more baby food spit in my face :( 
My goal today, to post some recipes on here.  Any suggestions out there? Thanksgiving is around the corner, so I see some cooking in my near future.  I think I've already made 6-8 loaves of pumpkin-cranberry bread.  My kids think that it's cake....little do they know there is actually some really pumpkin in there!

Slowly but surely!

    It seems like I always have a million things to do.  Building a web page, not as easy as I would have thought.  Sure, I can create links, add buttons and gadgets...... It just doesn't look as perty as the professional ones.  As much of a cheapskate as I am, I refuse to pay someone to run a blog for me, so slowly the job will go.  Anyone with some helpful pointers: aim them my way :) 
    This week, I feel like I was just constantly playing catch up to try to get this home back in order.  Jim and I did get to have an awesome night out for US!!! Some fillets at Porterhouse and then to see some local bands play in Athens....just like ol' times.  Next date night, I said, maybe we should stick to just dinner so we aren't so worthless the day after.  I guess that's a sign of getting older.  It was nice though....to just have a LAZY day around the house.  It's amazing how my little tornadoes can destroy my home when I take just one day off from following them around the house, picking up constantly. 
    Now, to get ready for Thanksgiving and Black Friday.  The holiday season is NEVER ENDING.  It starts off, for me with Jim and Blair's birthdays, back to back....then to Thanksgiving, then to Peyton's birthday and Christmas.  I am SO glad when NYE comes around cause that means most of my chaos has already passed.  I promise to attempt to work on this a little more each day.  But as you know, I am one busy bee!!!

And so it begins.......

    I never have been one to be too extremely literally blessed.  I guess this is why I have avoided formally posting a blog up until this point.  Finally my kids all sleep through the night, my hubby is at work, and I have some quiet time for mwa!!!  Those of you who know me already know, I am obsessed with cleaning, cooking, taking pictures of my kids, bargain shopping, and having a good time.  I guess this seems like the right outlet to share these interests. 
    I guess I have reached a point with facebook that I post so many different links, or pointers that I use, but I, myself, have to go back and figure out where I saw them.  So, I am going to attempt to try to organize my "tools" here for myself, and YOU to use as well. 
    A little about me, Amanda McClain, to begin.  I have three amazing kids: Blair,3, Peyton,2 (almost), and Jamison (6 months).  Those of you with kids know that this is pretty close together in age and can sometimes be trying.  At the same time, I CAN see the light at the end of the tunnel now.  My husband and I are DONE having kids so now I can relax, fit back into my favorite jeans with a glass of wine and laugh and the hilarious comments that fly out of their mouths.  My husband, Jim, works so hard and is very dedicated to us.  We are very lucky to have him.  We just opened up a lunch cafe in our town a month before Jamison was born.  This is in addition to his previous job.  Needless to say, Jim has his hands full with work, and I have my hands full with the kiddos. 
    I LOVE cooking, photography, creative hobbies,cleaning, saving moola, shopping, music, and my family.  My hubby will tell you, while he loves to play poker or video games, I could search the internet for hours and be content.  At least now, I can show you all the helpful sites along the way. 
    Any pointers are always helpful for any of you out there, as I have never done a blog before.  I know where to find other blogs, but not exactly how to run my own :)
    With all of that said, I'm off to try to create this site!!
